OVERVIEW
Matan Arewa Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Limited was registered under the Northern Region Co-operative Societies Law of (West Africa) Nigeria as a Co-operative Farmers, Thrift & Credit, Buy Land and Build Houses for the Low Income Earners, Capacity Building (Skills Acquisition), as well as promoting of Local Educational and living standards of women and to encourage the development of the Co-operative Movement of the Northern Region of Nigeria.

It is a women Co-operative registered since 11 years ago under FEAP (Now NAPEP)
to promote the economic interests of its members and to affect the larger society positively.

MISSION STATEMENT
Matan Arewa Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Ltd was established to provide care and support for the members of the society in respective of religion, tribe and politics.

We are established to be indisputable leader in poverty reduction, premised on transparency, honesty, discipline, performance , determination and sincerity to a have a world without poverty.
Develop a global partnership for development
Promote gender equality and empower women
We are both team and cooperative spirit, democracy and community accountability through training and farming.
Improve production processes, quality control, market information and good governance in the society.
To arrange for the sales of members produces to the best advantage.
To encourage members to produce the highest grade of produces and to market it in the best conditions.
To provide facilities for deposits and savings by members
To enable members to obtain loans for necessary purposes at reasonable interests.
To encourage improved methods of agriculture and to supply expert advice
To supply seeds and seeding of good quality and fertilizers.
To partner with organized public, Development agencies, Donors, Corporate Organizations, Individuals and private sectors.


MANAGEMENT

Mrs. Hannatu A. Garba

Mrs Hannatu A.V. Garba is the founder, President/CEO of Matan Arewa Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Limited since 1998 to-date. She was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Anebi of OBOTU Village in Ugboju-Icho Ward of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State 47 years ago. She worked with the then Bank of the North Ltd, now Unity Bank PLC for over 14 years as a senior officer in the various Branches of the Bank and its Head Office, Kano. She also worked over 3 years with Markfema Nig Ltd, A health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in Gurara Street, Abacha Estate, Wuse Zone 4, FCT Abuja as a very Senior personel. She is also the Chairperson and Managing Director of Matan Arewa Nigeria Limited. A general Contractor, Distributor of Products, Importers and Exporters, etc.She has OND, Higher Diploma and Post Graduate- Diploma. All in Management Studies from Kaduna Polytechnic, Sokoto State University and Bauchi State University respectively. She is blessed with children.

Mrs Hauwa Bello:
Mrs Hauwa Bello is the Treasurer of Matan Arewa Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Ltd. She is a business Woman.

Mrs Sandra Amina Oche:
Mrs Sandra Amina Oche is the General Secretary of Matan Arewa Multi-purpose Co-operative Ltd. She is a Banker with FinBank to-date and a Post Graduate Diploma Holder in Management.


Others are:-
Mrs Lanre Abdulmaliki Vice President, Ladi Owuna, Owoloyi Ode, Mrs Ajuma Ubeke, Oyanta Ugana, Mrs Ada Oga, and Mrs Owoloyi V. Anebi.

STAFF STRENGTH

Presently, we have staff strength of over 30 and we use to increase staff or employ temporally additional staff whenever the need arises.

FUTURE PLANS AND PROSPECTS

The long and short term prospects remain very bright. Being in operation for over 10 years in both Farming and selling, training and research, Matan Arewa Multi-purpose Co-operative Society has come to stay. We expect to sustain and improve on our market shares through a whole range of client satisfaction programmes on competitive pricing and innovative products.

BANKER

Presently, our banker is Intercontinental Bank PLC.

Finally, Matan Area Multi-purpose Co-operative Society Ltd has come to stay with able and result driven by providing efficient services with honest young men and women seen around it to carry the Co-operative to meaningful height.
